Very busy

Wow, I thought I would never finish these projects. Being pregnant and having Ferris' first day of school and Linus' first day of Kinder in Feb (on the same day) we were very busy. And so I thought, I would never see light in my sewing room again but then my mom came and we actually finished all the projects that had been sitting idle for so long.

Thank you so much mom!

Wow I can't believe X-MAS is already so close!

There is a lot going on at our home at the moment but I have managed to but my santa sacks in my etsy shop, so please have a look. If you would like to order one, please let me know by the 1st of December so that I will be able to get them to you on time.

Thanks for stopping by

Finally finished!

This gorgeous little baby girl quilt is one of my favourites! And it's now finally FINISHED.
The reason I started this little project is because I had some lovely Amy Butler and Kaffe Fassett fabric left from a bigger project. And so I started to mix and match it with some plain fabrics and then hand stitched some little birds all around it. I have heard from others that using your scraps or in my case, a bit bigger scraps is the way to go these days:) Please check out what Aneela Hoey does with hers.

Kinder!

One of Ferris' kinder teacher is going to be a second time dad in July so I volunteered to make him a little quilt from the kinder. We had each child and the kinder teachers draw a little portrait of themselves and voila here it is!
The baby is going to be a little boy so that's why I stayed with the red, blue and yellows. What do you think? I think the kids did a fab job:)

Tuesdays!

Wow, my first post on my very own blog! Not sure how I'm going to go with this, but we will give it a go. So here we go:

My oldest son Ferris goes to Kinder all day Tuesday now and needed a sleeping bag. But there was just no way I was going to buy one of those yucky sleeping bags from Kmart or Target. So, I decided to make one on my own. And here we go - it's 150cm long and 70cm wide! It's filled with a double layer of polyester on both top and bottom. The outside fabric is from IKEA and the lovely lego fabric is from my favourite shop here in Melbourne, Amitie. I did end up putting a binding on it as well, which I would not recommend because it all got a bit too thick and my needle was struggling.

Ferris is loving his home made sleeping bag at Kinder!
